ESCC offers multiple Commercial Driver’s License training tracks. Fill out our information request form to reach one of our team members to receive more specific information about traditional and fast-track training.

Currently, we offer traditional CDL trainings every three weeks:

  • July 1-August 9
  • July 29 – September 6
  • August 12 – September 20
  • September 9 – October 18
  • September 23 – October 31
  • November 4 – December 17

Class A CDL:

A Class A commercial driver’s license is required to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the towed vehicle is heavier than 10,000 pounds.

With a Class A CDL and the proper endorsements, you may drive the following types of vehicles: tractor-trailers, truck and trailer combinations, tank vehicles, livestock carriers, and flatbeds. This training utilizes manual transmission vehicles and automatic transmissions.

Class B CDL:

This course aims to teach students how to operate a box truck with air brakes. Class B CDLs are required to drive vehicles with gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWRs) over 26,001 pounds and towing capacities under 10,000 pounds.

In most cases, Class B vehicles don’t have trailers.

Hazmat:

The CDL Hazmat Endorsement is specifically for those who want to deliver materials that the FMCSA deems hazardous, such as radioactive materials, explosives, poisons, and gases.

Students who complete a six-week course will be able to take their CDL test on site at ESCC’s Alabama Aviation College campus in Ozark. Classes meet Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7-11 a.m.
